The Stonewall Committee is a non-partisan educational and advocacy organization that works to promote understanding, equality and respect for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in Central New York through educating the public, increasing political participation, lobbying and working with elected officials at the local, state and federal levels of government, and working with diverse groups and coalitions.

We sponsor the LGBT Booth at the New York State Fair, co-ordinate the annual Flag Raising at City Hall in the City of Syracuse, present Free February Flicks (educational videos), host Town Hall Meetings, issue action alerts on legislative issues, publish the Pride Book and Community Directory, make presentations on legislative issues, attend the Pride Festival in Syracuse, and publish periodic Updates with information for our community and our allies.

We lobby in support of the Dignity For All Students Act, GENDA (Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act), Marriage Equality and other legislative issues of concern to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

We are the oldest LGBT community organization in Central New York.

It's Fair Time!  Please visit us in the Center of Progress Building. The Fair runs from August 26 to September 6. Look for our Celebrate Diversity sign.

We are collecting petitions in support of GENDA and Marriage Equality, have information on issues ranging from bullying to ENDA (Employment Non Discrimination Act), as well as stickers and other fun things for all to enjoy.
